At the end of 2012, I took on my biggest challenge to date. I joined forces with a good friend to set up an events company, staging annual conferences for the voiceover and audio production industry in the UK. It’s essentially where I learnt my biggest lessons about branding and marketing; learning on the job!
For our debut event in 2013 I created the company’s identity; a new logo, an e-commerce website and a complete package of venue signage and promotional items, including branded delegate lanyards with programme schedule inserts. I integrated social media into our promotional strategy and built an email marketing database. It was a baptism of fire and no easy task, but I’m really proud of the work my business partner and I achieved, especially turning a profit in our first year of business.
We quickly realised that the logo needed a tweak, but you can see a snapshot of my work below.
